COVID-19 Update

Dear Patients, Families & Friends,

We feel privileged you are a part of our dental family at Giesy Family & Implant Dentistry. We care deeply about the health, safety, and well-being of our patients, our families, and our dental care team. As the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to progress, our thoughts are with all of those affected. We are reaching out to let you know our top priority is to ensure our patients can be treated in the healthiest and safest possible environment.

We assure you that our dental team is vigilant with already-existing health precautions and infection control protocols as mandated by OSHA, ADA, CDC, and WHO. Our office has been following universal precaution guidelines for many years. We disinfect, clean, and sterilize our treatment rooms before and after each patient visit. We use a bactericidal, virucidal, fungicidal, and tuberculocidal disinfectant recommended for dental operatories, hospital surgical rooms, anesthesia machines, and respiratory therapy equipment.

We are implementing additional precautions to help reduce the risk of transmission and to ensure that our patients, families, and team remain safe. We recognize that some of these precautions may cause temporary inconveniences. However, please be assured that your health, as well as the health of all members of our community, are our main priority. We are kindly asking our patients to assist us in reducing the risk of coronavirus exposure and transmission. The changes implemented in our office are effective immediately and will continue until local and federal health officials determine they are no longer necessary to maintain public health and safety.

We are temporarily modifying how we normally accommodate patients and their families in our office in the following ways:

  • If you or a family member has recently been ill with fever, cough, or shortness of breath we ask you to please reschedule your appointment.
  • If you have traveled outside of the country recently or have been in contact with someone who has, we ask you to please reschedule your appointment.
  • If you prefer not to wait in our patient lobby for your scheduled appointment time, please call our front desk (253-752-6630) upon your arrival. We will then alert you via phone call or text when your dental care provider has your designated room ready for you.
  • We currently request that only scheduled patients attend appointments. If necessary, one accompanying adult may attend in the case of a younger or dependent patient requiring assistance. Siblings, spouses, grandparents, and friends should remain outside in their vehicles.
  • If you are scheduled for dental procedures that require a driver, we respectfully ask your driver to remain in the vehicle until your procedure is complete. At that time, our office will notify your driver to have them come inside so post-operative instructions may be reviewed.
  • All toys and magazines have been removed from our patient waiting room.
  • Upon arrival, patients will be asked to wash/sanitize their hands.
  • Once in the treatment room, patients may have their temperature taken and be given a pre-procedural rinse prior to the start of treatment. We will reschedule any appointments as needed.

We are actively monitoring updates and closely following guidelines from federal, state, and county health agencies. Our dental team appreciates your cooperation and is grateful for your patience as we navigate this unprecedented global health challenge together. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our office. We are happy you are a part of our family of remarkable patients. Thank you for your continued trust, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
