Healthy Mouth = Healthy Body

Recent studies have shown a significant link between a person’s oral health and their overall body health. A healthy mouth is often the sign of a healthy body and vice-versa.

Taking care of your teeth can prevent damaging inflammation and infection from gaining entry into your system and causing damage elsewhere.

Dr. Giesy has received advanced training and education that allows him to offer his patients in-house, comprehensive treatment at our Tacoma dental office for whole-health dentistry.

There’s no need to hop around to different dentists; Dr. Giesy can provide a total smile solution that will look good, feel great, and last a lifetime.

Crowns & Bridges

Dental crowns are tooth-like caps that fit over damaged, decayed, or unattractive teeth – preventing them from getting extracted. They’re made to look, feel, and function just like a natural tooth.

Bridges are an option for replacing one or more missing teeth and can give you the confidence to smile again. Depending on your specific situation, Dr. Giesy will recommend which restoration is best for your smile.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are a superior treatment option for patients with missing teeth.

Long-lasting and natural-feeling, implants help preserve tooth-supporting bone that otherwise naturally deteriorates when a tooth is lost. Still have questions?

Inlays & Onlays

Do you have damaged teeth? Sometimes the damage to a tooth is too extensive to be treated with a simple filling, and yet may not require a full-coverage crown.

Dr. Giesy may recommend inlays or onlays as a solution. Treatment involves using a fabricated filling and professionally bonding it to your teeth, leaving you with a strong, restored, healthy tooth.

Mercury-Free Fillings

We take patient health more than seriously, it is our greatest priority. Dr. Giesy offers durable mercury-free fillings that are not only ideal for your oral health, but also for your overall well-being.

Composite fillings result in a more natural-looking, healthier smile, giving you the confidence to smile freely!

Tooth Extractions

Dr. Giesy’s primary goal is to preserve your natural teeth and keep them healthy for as long as possible. At times, however, the best solution may be extraction, whether preventative (wisdom teeth), or as a solution for a damaged or infected tooth.

Dr. Giesy will discuss recommended treatments with you, including sedation options available, so you feel completely comfortable and at ease.

Bone Grafting

A bone graft is a surgical procedure to replace bone tissue that has been lost. When a patient does not have a sufficient amount of healthy bone tissue to support a dental implant, a bone graft may need to be performed.

Bone loss can be caused by:

  • Gum disease
  • Accident or injury
  • Tooth loss
  • Developemental problems

The procedure is completed in our office under sedation. Your comfort will be monitored by Dr. Giesy and his team during the entire procedure. Once completed, we can move forward with placing a beautiful, new tooth replacement for you.

Periodontal Flap Surgery

When gum disease has become too advanced for non-surgery solutions, then periodontal flap surgery may be necessary to save a tooth.

Gum disease can create periodontal pockets, areas where the gum tissue has separated from the tooth. These pockets become filled with harmful bacteria that cannot be removed by brushing and flossing. The purpose of periodontal flap surgery is to remove these pockets.

A small surgical incision is made that exposes the tooth and roots and allows for a thorough cleaning. The flap is sealed up, and the healing process can begin.

The procedure can be done using only a local anesthetic, but other treatments are available to make sure of your comfort. State-of-the-art technology is used to make this a fast and effective treatment that will restore the health of your teeth.

‘‘I have complete, absolute faith in Dr. Giesy! He got me in, did all the necessary x-rays, found a lot of answers to my problems, set up a game plan, and done.’’
